Another Thunderbird 2

Some time ago I bought a couple of Imai 1/350 scale Thunderbird 2 kits. This is the accurate one, a lovely kit with a beautiful shape and some cockpit detail. However this kit's major flaw was that it was missing glazing for the cockpit.

Fast forward and today I got the Aoshima issue of this kit, now with a scale Thunderbird 4. The kit also now has glazing :)
Happy days.

The lovely retro box art is beautiful.

The box of delights...

Parts for TB4...

And here is the window part for TB2's cockpit...

Before Imai went out of business they milked the moulds for Thunderbird 2 for all they were worth: the basic kit, flying version with stand, metallic green, chrome, gold chrome, clear, green tinted clear, brown tinted clear, launch bay diorama kit and a pod set.  They also issued one kit with a set of metal legs and metal exhausts.  The holes for the legs on the main body were enlarged, and this is the kit Aoshima has released, with the newly tooled microscopic Thunderbird 4.

All we need now is a decent scale model of TB4 and a plastic kit of Zero X and I'll be a happy bunny...
